________ woke up first the next day. Gazing at the clock, she saw it was only 7:09, so she shut eyes once more.
They shot open immediately when she felt arms around her waist.
"A-arthur?" She whispered, not really trying to wake him.
Arthur merely grumbled in response and pulled _______ closer to him, his warm breath on her neck. She shuddered at the feeling.
Oh, and the fact that he had morning wood wasn't really helping either.
Why are you conspiring against me, universe? She wondered as she felt her resolve to slip out of his grasp slowly slipping away. Just as she was about to give in, she heard a gasp from behind her and the warmth left her.
"What the hell?!"
His screaming was enough to break her out of her whatever trance she was in.
"T-that's what I should be asking you!"
"I don't know how that happened!"
"Surrrre you don't!"
"I- I don't! I swear!"
"Whatever." She got of bed and made her way to the couch.
"What are you doing?"
"Sleeping on the couch so what just happened doesn't happen again."
He looked away, blushing. "D-don't do that
I should be the one sleeping on the couch. You know, as the man
"Oh trust me, you'll be spending plenty of nights on the couch during this relationship. Consider this a freebie."
Arthur then got up and marched towards her. "Now you listen here; either we both sleep in that bed or I take this couch! Take your pick!"
________ stared at him in shock. In all their fights, she had never seen him act so
dominant. She kind of liked it.
"F-fine." She sat up and walked toward the bed, motioning him to follow her. "The bed's more comfy anyway."
The two laid on their backs, struggling to go back to sleep. Arthur eventually succeeded, but _______ had too much on her mind.
Her belly rumbled. There was no way she'd be getting sleep now
she sighed and got up to order room service.
I wonder if I should get Arthur something
she wondered. She shook the thought out of her head as soon as it came. Why should she care if he ate or not?!
But then as that thought left her head, memories of what just happened took its place. She hated to admit it, but she liked being in his arms, she liked feeling his breath on her neck, and um
She blushed furiously. God I hope room service doesn't take forever, she thought, trying to distract herself.
But more annoying thoughts kept popping into her head. Thoughts of the Brit laying in the bed they shared the previous night. She pounded her head. "Stop it, stop it, stop it! You're supposed to hate him, remember? Remember Alfred?" She reminded herself. That seemed to do the trick. Her feelings for Alfred calmed her nerves; ironic, it usually did the opposite.
She wondered what he was up too. If he was thinking of her like she was thinking of him. Part of hoped he'd say "I object!" and confess his undying love for her when the chance arose. But he didn't
Her heart sank. Maybe he didn't like her after all. Even if he did, what could either of them do? She was a married woman.
Her room service came at last. She dove right in, with fervor comparable to that of the aforementioned object of her affections. Her huge meal was gone in minutes.
A little while later, Arthur woke up.
what time is it?"
She gazed at the clock. "A little over half past nine."
He stretched. ______ found this kind of cute, but refused to acknowledge that. He sniffed the air.
"What is that smell? It smells divine~"
"That was my breakfast, and I'm afraid it's all gone." She said with fake sympathy. "You'll have to order your own breakfast."
He growled. "Whatever. Would you be so kind as to tell me what you got?"
"Use your own mind!"
He rolled his eyes. "You're so frustrating!"
"Get used to it, love." She mimicked his accent, causing his cheeks to redden. He walked away and ordered his own room service.
_________ grabbed her iPod. She went to connect her Wi-Fi, but there was none. This pissed her off a little, since there were signs outside saying there was free Wi-Fi.
She moved around a little until she found available Wi-Fi. It seemed like it belonged to an individual person rather than a hotel. But that didn't stop her from using it. She put in her earphones and listened to some music
"_______ , are you even listening to me?!" Arthur yelled.
He groaned. "I asked you what you wanted to do today!"
"What do you care?"
"My god, ______. I'm not happy about this mess we're in, same as you. But we're stuck in it! Can't we call a truce?!"
She pondered this for a moment, and a smile formed on her lips. "Nope!"
He laid down on the bed, frustrated beyond belief.
"Well look, I gotta shower before I do anything. You can do what you want."
While she was in the shower, she too pondered what she wanted to do. She kind of wanted to go swimming, but that'd mean another shower later on which was kind of a pain. She could play the Nintendo 64 again, but that would likely get boring before the day was done. And she didn't want to risk another bonding moment with Arthur.
She finally decided she'd go to the sauna. She'd never been in one before, so she thought it'd be fun. She got out and got changed into her swimsuit.
Arthur blushed a dark red when he saw her in her swim suit. "S-so you're going swimming?" He asked, looking away.
"Nah, I'm going to the sauna." ______ didn't bother to invite him though she wouldn't mind his company.
The sauna was nice and relaxing, but it was also kind of boring. _______ didn't stay in very long.
She decided to go to the hot tub next. She was hit on by a few guys there. They were kind of cute, but she turned them down, showing her ring. As she looked at it herself, she remembered the kiss, and suddenly she wanted to go back to the room.
The sight she saw made her blush. Arthur was laying on the bed without a shirt. _______ nearly drooled; he had a very nice body. Not overly muscular, but he was no wimp either.
She shook her head. "H-hey! Put some clothes on, you perv!"
His eyes widened and he turned his attention to her voice, becoming as red as she was. "Git! Haven't you ever heard of knocking?!"
"I shouldn't have to knock to go in my own room!"
He sighed in defeat as he reached into a drawer to grab a shirt. "It's called common courtesy."
"I'd like to tell you what you can do with your common courtesy." _______ mumbled, averting her eyes.
how was the sauna?" He asked awkwardly.
"It was alright
" she trailed off. "Not as good as I hoped, but still pretty good."
There was an extremely awkward silence. Both still refusing to look at each other.
I think I'll make a phone call." ________ stammered.
"Okay then." He replied.
She dialed the phone and called her best friend Alfred. She was overjoyed when he actually answered. Hearing his voice calmed her heart down, oddly enough. She figured it was like magnets, when two sides that are same charge come into contact, they repel each other, blocking each other. That's how her feelings were.
Then she realized that would mean she had the same feelings for Arthur as she did Alfred, and changed it so that it was a positive and negative charge, which combine together and cancel each other out. That explanation made no sense, and she knew it. But it was better than admitting the alternative.
Having eased her poor overworked heart, but exhausting herself in the process, __________ decided she'd turn it in early. She was knocked out rather quickly, possibly because of the special treatment she'd just given herself.
It's a shame though; maybe if she stayed up, she'd have felt the Brit gazing at her with admiration and stroking her cheek gently
Until he snapped out of it and quickly retracted his hand.
