"GAAAAAH! I effin' hate the snow!" you whined to no one in particular, throwing another shovelful of of the aforementioned frozen liquid behind you. "It has to be the worst part of this stupid season!"

"Awww come on, _____." a voice said, startling you. You turned around to see your friend and love interest (who said that?!) Jack... You know, you never could remember his last name. Did he even tell you? You felt kind of stupid, thinking about it...

"Hello? ______? Are you still there?"

You shook your head. "Y-yeah." you said, looking him all over. You noticed once again he wasn't wearing shoes.

"Honestly, Jack. One of these days you're gonna get nasty frostbite."

He chuckled. "Somehow, I seriously doubt that."

You only rolled your eyes, trying to ignore that gorgeous smile you swore you were immune to before getting back to work.

"Hey, you don't really mean that, do you?"

"Hm? Mean what, Jack?"

"What you said about the snow."

"Well... Yeah. To be honest, winter's my least favorite season. And this right here?" you picked up a shovelful of snow "Like I said, it's the number one reason. I could almost tolerate this season if it wasn't for all the bloody snow."

"So, you'd like winter better without snow?"

You let out another sigh. "Yes, Jack, I'd... What's wrong?" you asked upon turning around and
seeing an unusually gloomy look on your friend's face.

"Huh? N-nothing... Hey, I gotta go. See you later, okay?"

"Um... Okay?"

Well that was weird...

The next day, you woke up to a pleasant surprise. The snow was all gone, and it was relatively nice out.

Well, how do you like that... you thought to yourself. You enjoyed days like this.

And when the rest of the week was the like, you were estatic. But week two came by, and you went back to the way you were originally. Week three flew by and now you were concerned. December 25th was fast approaching, and for the first time in your life, you were dreaming of a white Christmas. Nothing. Apparently you didn't wish hard enough. New years passed, still nothing. The whole winter went by without a single flake.

What was worse, you hadn't seen a trace of Jack, either. Ever since the day you told him about how much you hated the snow. You worried that you might have seriously hurt his feelings.

"But why?" You wondered aloud. "All I said was that I hate snow! What's the big deal?"

Summer would be on its way before you finally had the slightest inkling as to what was going on.

The more you thought about your memories with Jack, the more you realized they all occurred during the winter.

The more you thought about how all your memories with Jack occurred during the winter, the more you realized those winter days were the ones where there was snow on the ground. You'd never see him on the days when there wasn't, but when there was, the more there was, the greater amount of time the two of you spent together.

So there was some kind of connection between Jack and the snow… but what was it? How was it that you'd never asked yourself these questions before? You had your slow moments, same as everyone else, but for the most part you were a pretty sharp girl.

Ah, I'm getting off track  You thought, getting back to work on your various theories as to what this correlation could possibly be.

Months went by. Summer left, and school was back in session. Still, that one thought was the only thing occupying your mind. You were perpetually going over possibilities in your head.

Thanksgiving break came, a holiday you already didn't care much for, but seemed to mock you this year. I'd be grateful if I could find out what was up with Jack… you thought.

You'd normally get pissed when it snowed before December, but this year you were practically praying for it. Despite all your efforts, the only thing you'd manage to find out was that Jack and the snow were somehow connected. So the snow was your only hope of figuring this out, and more importantly, the only way for you to see Jack again.

But the first week of December passed, and there was still no sign of snow, same as the previous year. With thanksgiving out of the way, businesses, radio stations, and the like now finally felt ready to just completely let loose their Christmas spirit.  Again, you felt mocked.

One thing that really set you off was hearing the song "All I want for Christmas is you." Of all the mockery you felt you were being subjected to, you felt this was the worst. The fact that you heard it repeatedly was bad enough, but what really got to you was how it was so true for you. You really didn't want anything else for Christmas; just the chance to see him again. Ohhhhh the cheesiness of it all!!!!

One night, you looked out the window of your room, tears threatening to spill from your eyes as you sang the lyrics:

"I don't want a lot for Christmas
There is just one thing I need
I don't care about the presents
Underneath the Christmas tree

I just want you for my own
More than you could ever know
Make my wish come true
All I want for Christmas
Is you…"

As that last note left your lips, you saw something out of the corner of your eye…

Was… was that a snowflake?! You wondered.

The tiny little flakes continued to fall from the sky, confirming your suspicion that it was indeed, snowing. You nearly lost your freaking mind.

Without bothering to change out of your pajamas, to put a coat on, or even just some shoes, you ran outside. The snow was falling a lot heavier now, practically covering the ground.

You laid down in the snow, not caring about how it would drench your (h/l, h/c) hair or your thin pj's. You were just so happy to finally have snow again!!

"Well your attitude's certainly changed." A smug, familiar voice said.

You sat up instanly, happy tears nearly threatening to fall from your eyes as you looked up to see the one person you'd been dying to see for nearly a year now.

But  then you got pissed, and threw a snowball at him.

"Ah!" He cried, wiping the snow off his face. "What was that for?!"

"Where have you been?! I've been worried sick about you!"

"You told me you didn't like the snow!"

"Yeah, the snow, not you! I've missed you like crazy!"

Jack's eyes went wide "Y…you have?"

Open mouth, insert foot.

"Uh… well… y-yeah." You said, face suddenly feeling warm despite the cool air around you.

He smiled that huge smile you loved so much before pulling you into a hug. "I've missed you too…" He murmured.

You hugged him back at first, wanting to have done so for a while now. But you realized how cold he was…

"J-just one second! Don't think you can leave for almost a year, bat those... p-pretty blue eyes of yours, smile that adorable smile…" You shook your head. "And do all sorts of other things to mess with my feels, and I'll just forgive you! Where have you been? What does the snow have to do with you? And why are you so cold?!"

Jack seemed amused by your questions. "Tell me, _______. How is it that you still believe in Jack Frost?"

"W-what? Like the guy that nips your nose in that song?"

"That's the one."

"I… I don't think I do. I mean, is he even a person? I thought he was just… I don't know, an expression?"

"Oh really? Then how is it you can see me? You'd have to believe in him to see me."

"Well I don't think I do, but if I did, I guess it'd just be because no one told me he wasn't real. Like the Easter Bunny, Santa, The tooth fairy, and the Boogeyman."

He laughed.

"What?" You asked, annoyed.

"Well, what if I told you all of those guys (and girl) you just mentioned actually are real?"

"I'd say you're a little old to believe in all of them, obviously."

"Well, that's what I'm telling you. And you know what? Jack Frost isn't just an expression. He's me. Every snow day you've ever had? My work. When the lakes, ponds, and rivers freeze over? That's me too. Pretty much everything you associate with winter has to do with me."

You stared at him for a moment. Then you busted out into laughter.

"I thought you might react this way…" He said, chuckling a little himself.

"Well, duh! I mean, wow. A guy writes one song about making it rain and suddenly every male in the world thinks they're the cause of precipi…"

You were cut off by a bright light coming from the staff Jack always carried around (which was something else you failed to notice). When it stopped, so did the snow.

"Believe me now?" He asked smugly.

You continued to stare for a little before his question registered in your head. "I'm getting there… can you start up the snow again?"

He repeated the motion from before and it started snowing once again. Your eyes widened and your jaw dropped. He… he was telling the truth!

"Leaves you kinda speechless, doesn't it?" He said teasingly, closing your still open jaw.

"Y-yeah… I mean… of all the reasons I had, I… I never thought of this one…" You finally replied.

He seemed pleased with himself, smiling again. "Hey, _______. You remember what you told me about your grandma and the plane?"

"About flying at night, you mean? Yeah, why?"

"You wanna try something nearly as good?"

"What do you-" your question was left unfinished as he picked you up bridal style and you two were lifted off the ground by the wind.

Like any natural person, you screamed your head off and clung to Jack for dear life. The screaming came to a halt when he kissed you on the cheek, leaving you soundless (as opposed to just speechless)

"Thought that might shut you up~" He teased. "Now instead of looking down, why don't you look up?"

You did as you were told, and your jaw dropped once again. Your grandma was right; from this height, you could see the planets, the stars, and everything else the way you could see the moon from on the ground. It was breathtaking…

"Jack… It's beautiful…" You murmured.

"I knew you'd like it!" He stated proudly.

"Well duh! I told you I wanted to see this, remember?"

He smiled at you before giving you another kiss. But this time, instead of on the cheek, it was on the lips.

That appeared to be the straw that broke the proverbial camel's back. Overwhelmed by all the craziness that had happened to you in such a short time, you fainted. Jack merely rolled his eyes as he slowly descended to solid ground. Once there, he walked you to your house, opened the door (of course it wasn't locked; how would you get back in?) and placed you in your bed.

"Sweet dreams, _______." He whispered, before heading out the door.
That's right. I too, am frostbitten. So sue me.

I really do hate winter, especially the snow. But all last year when we recieved none, I was really weirded out... and now it's December and I still haven't seen a flake! I'm actually starting to miss it!

Oh well, it's still early ^^;

I also want a better title for this. Any ideas?
