Literature Text

Honestly, we’re not that difficult.

I know sometimes it seems like we have as many phases and sides as the moon and lord knows how many times the definition of that changes

But at the core of it all there are those who are genuinely kind and those who are genuinely cruel

Just like you.

The truth is plenty of girls would just melt at the thought of their name

Written all over someone’s heart, occasionally paired with an acronym

Of a fraction of the reasons why you love them

Like the notebook of a lovesick schoolgirl

And if it’s your lot in life to pick one who wouldn’t

Then honey, she’s not worth the breath you’re desperately holding

To share with her.
So due to some personal stuff I was through the friend zone tag on tumblr and holy cow the attitude this concept is super negative.

Like yeah a guy shouldn't be nice to a girl simply in the hopes that she'll be dtf and they certainly shouldn't call her names or get pissy if she isn't

But rejection fucking hurts and they have every right to be hurt by said rejection.

So, basically, the point of this poem is three things

1. No one should be be blamed for their feelings, because they can't be controlled
2. You should be blamed/held accountable for the way you deal with them
3. Both parties involved can be assholes about it.

I don't know how well they came through, and as always there are things I'd like to change. But there also things I really like about this (I'm particularly fond of the second half). If you have any advice, or any feelings about the subject, or just like it and wanna say so...well, I don't have comments disabled. So go ahead!

Oh and for the record, I know girls get friendzoned and bitch about it too. I just wrote this from a girl's perspective because... well, because I'm a girl.
